The ‘outside-in’ garden by architects Meir Lobaton Corona and Ulli Heckmann, is conceived as a visual paradox for the 22nd international garden festival of Chaumont sur Loire, France - a device that enhances conditions in order to make the audience realize how by relying only on sight, they rely on imagination.

Topography is a study of the Italian hill town of Assisi. After learning about countless examples of urban development in relation to site design and topography, we were asked to choose a building or urban condition which existed according a strict relationship to its site, and explore the condition through the construction of a physical model. A short series of drawings and diagrams of Assisi were completed as a supplement to the physical model.
Tadao Ando (安藤 忠雄 Andō Tadao, born September 13, 1941, in Minato-ku, Osaka, Japan and raised in Asahi-ku in the city) is a Japanese architect. He visited buildings designed by renowned architects like Le Corbusier, Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Kahn before returning to Osaka in 1968 and established his own design studio, Tadao Ando Architect and Associates. He works primarily in exposed cast-in-place concrete and is renowned for an exemplary craftsmanship which invokes a Japanese sense of materiality, junction and spatial narrative through the pared aesthetics of international modernism.
